How Much are Average Wedding Rings?

Over the years, we have found that clients spend an average of € 1,000 to € 1,500 on a wedding ring duo. This remains an average, and in this price range, Madame’s wedding ring can even be set with diamonds (half-turn ring for example)! You can check it on our wedding rings for men and wedding rings for women’s page.

If this seems like a significant sum to you, we like to remind you that wedding rings are the only object you will keep from your wedding ceremony (which will not be the case with champagne for example, even if we love it just as much as you do and above all that you will wear on you every day. In our opinion, this is a good reason to invest in a quality jewel, a real favorite that can accompany you throughout your life!

What does the price of an alliance depend on?

This is the thorny point of the budget issue. The 18-carat gold wedding rings can have delusional differences if we compare between different models and especially different brands (gold story, the jewelry merry-go-round, maty, etc.). Be vigilant about the quality of the jewelry you are going to buy. A wedding ring is a jewel that you will wear every day, throughout your life and it must therefore be resistant.

If several colors of gold are available to you (white gold, pink gold, or even yellow gold), there are also different types of gold; we only recommend 18k or 750/1000 gold (our article on gold qualities can be read right here). You must flee from 9k gold also called 375 / 1000th which is not sufficiently durable over time (it hardly contains any gold in reality…).

And if your choice is a wedding ring set with stones, go for precious stones and in particular diamonds. They will resist over time and remain shiny as on the first day. On this subject, we also have an article to fully understand the Mohs scale and the hardness of stones.

Likewise, be mindful of how wedding rings are made. Avoid hollow or slightly hollowed-out models at the ring body and stones. If they are indeed less expensive (since containing less material, therefore less gold or platinum for example), they will deform on your finger over the years. And above all, they can cause skin problems, the result of an accumulation of dirt and bacteria in the hollow of the jewel.

To each their budget

For the tightest budgets, affording a duo of wedding rings does not necessarily mean breaking the bank or reducing the quality of jewelry. You can opt for a simple wedding ring, like a classic half bangle in 18k gold each, for example. For a duo of this type, you can count on an envelope of around 800 €, without compromising on quality.

In addition, know that you can easily add diamonds to your wedding rings later when your finances allow! A nice gift idea for a wedding anniversary for example.

Where to buy them?

The question quickly arises, especially when you want to optimize your wedding budget as much as possible. From large brands to Houses or Internet sales sites, which is the best?

The large jewelry stores (Histoire d’Or, Manège à Bijoux, Maty, etc.) are often the address that we think of first, it is a practical choice because the offer presented is generally important but be careful of the quality, especially about gold and stones, as mentioned above. You will easily find them near your home or within a radius of ten kilometers.

Jewelry Houses (Cartier, Tiffany, Boucheron, etc.) are the exact opposite of traditional brands. They offer a prestigious solution, but your wallet may remember it! It is not uncommon to find prices much higher than the average there because the quality has to be paid but also the brand. The locations of these Houses are very well located, in large cities where the price of real estate is soaring.

The alternative solution is to turn to online jewelry brands (like us!) Which sometimes have showrooms. The offer is generally very interesting with a large choice and competitive prices. However, you must remain vigilant about the quality of the jewelry presented. Are they made in France? What type of gold is used? What is the quality of the stones? So many questions that deserve to be answered, otherwise … go your way!

One last tip

Inquire! Do not hesitate to dig into the subject (for example with our guide to choosing an alliance), to tour different points of sale, to ask questions, and of course to try several alliances. This will allow you to better understand what suits you in terms of color and comfort. Without forgetting the history and the know-how (manufacture in France for example) which is hidden behind this jewel that you will wear all your life ❤️.
